Baptism and Baptismal Preparation
Baptism
frees us from sin and we are reborn as children of God; we
become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church
and made sharers in her mission. It is the basis of the
whole Christian life and therefore preparation is
necessary.
Parents
are required to be registered members of St. Peter and must
attend a Baptismal Preparation Program. The goal of the
class is to convey an understanding of Baptism in the Church
today; to help parents recognize their responsibility and
role in the development of their child’s faith. You are
encouraged to attend the program before your baby is born.
The upcoming English classes are on August 8, September 12,
October 10, November 14 & December 12. The Spanish
program is held on the last Friday of the month. For more
information and to register, please contact the parish
office.
Please register in advance.
Baptisms are celebrated in English following the 4:30 p.m.
Mass. Baptisms in Spanish are celebrated on the first Sunday
on the month following the 12:30 pm Mass.
