The St. Peter Thomas More Society has been
formed by attorneys at St. Peter Parish to minister to the
parish community and to each other. The attorneys meet
periodically in members’ homes to deepen their understanding
of our faith to discuss contemporary religious issues, and
to sponsor parish service projects. The Society works to
strengthen faith through discussion of common problems and
challenges of faith that confront the legal profession
daily. Special events include the Immigration Seminar, panel
discussions of end-of-life issues, and a parent/teen forum
including topics such as driving licenses, insurance
coverage, and DUI’s.
The
Cursillo Movement is a movement of the Church which makes it
possible for people to live what is fundamental for being a Christian,
and to live it with others in the community of faith. Cursillo
helps people discover and fulfill their personal vocations, and
it promotes the creation of core groups of Christians who enrich
their environments with the Gospel. In the Cursillo Movement,
evangelization is approached as a very natural act of being Christ-like
within. The Cursillo Movement provides a method and a technique
to provide each of us with the tools, the mentality, the strength,
and the support to make this natural type of evangelization possible.
