Many adults are interested in
learning more about their faith, studying scriptures, and
finding support as they grow in their faith life. We have a
few programs to assist adults in their endeavors. The RCIA
program is not only for adults
who
want to become Catholic, but for any person who wants to
learn more about the Church. Adults who would like to
become more familiar with God’s word can join our Scripture
study group. If you have been Catholic a long time and
are ready for some in-depth instruction on the Church we
host the Diocesan School of Christian Formation.
RCIA is the process by which adults who want to become
Catholic prepare to receive the sacraments of initiation:
Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. It also prepares adults
who were baptized in another faith, or who were baptized
Catholic but not raised in the faith, to receive the
sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist. We meet Sundays
after the 9:30 Mass in the Parish Hall. Inquirers are always
welcome - just stop by!

Tuesday,
August 25, September 1, September 8, September 15 from 9:15
am – 11:00 am, babysitting provided, Student Study Guide
$13. This eight-part, four-hour DVD series presented by
Christopher West is designed to give you a solid
understanding of God’s plan for humanity-a plan stamped
right into our bodies. The “Theology of the Body” is Pope
John Paul II’s integrated vision of the human person, body,
soul, and spirit. As he explains, the physical human body
has a specific meaning and is capable of revealing answers
regarding fundamental questions about us and our lives.
Is there a real purpose to life and if so, what is it? Why
were we created male and female? Does it really matter if we
are one sex or another? Why were man and woman called to
communion from the beginning? What does the marital union of
a man and woman say to us about God and his plan for our
lives? What is the purpose of the married and celibate
vocations? What exactly is "Love"? Is it truly possible to
be pure of heart? "Brace yourself! If we take in what the
Holy Father is saying in his Theology of the Body, we will
never view ourselves, view others, view the Church, the
Sacraments, grace, God, heaven, marriage, the celibate
vocation...we will never view the world the same way again."

learning system that makes the complex simple by teaching
the story (the narrative) of the Bible. Every day, more and
more people are encountering God’s Word through the methods
taught in these studies. The Great Adventure has
grown into a remarkable system designed to give the average
Catholic a solid foundation for a lifetime of Bible
reading. A clear understanding of the underlying Scriptural
narrative is essential to all Bible reading and study, and
for this reason The Bible Timeline is the first
foundational study in The Great Adventure Bible
Study Series. The Bible Timeline is an immensely
rich study, diving deep into each time period of the
Bible. Salvation history is covered from its beginning in
Genesis through the coming of Christ and the establishment
of the Catholic Church.
catholic answers to questions about our
catholic faith
Every day many of us
encounter questions or issues about our Catholic faith from
within our own families, friends, co-workers or neighbors
that we do not know how to answer or explain adequately.
Beginning September 21st, at 7 pm in the Parish Hall, Deacon
Joe will lead a series on providing answers to these types
of questions. Some of the issues to be addressed include:
The Eucharist, Mary, Confession, Purgatory, Papal Authority
and Apostolic Succession, Abortion, Contraception, the
Second Coming, as well as how to answer Jehovah Witnesses,
Mormons, and Muslims. The series will run weekly on Monday
nights until Thanksgiving and then pick up again after the
first of the year for 6 to 8 weeks before taking another
break. The sessions will end at approximately 8:30 so that
the Monday night football fans can get home to watch most of
the game. Light refreshments will be provided. The cost of
the first study book is $6 plus a Bible if you do not have
one. Contact Deacon Joe at 575-0837 or email deacon.joe@stpetercatholicchurch.com

of Christian Formation for the Diocese of Palm Beach,
Florida offers a series of classes and programs for adult

of their faith. Classes provide introductions to the major
topics and historical periods of the Catholic faith.

To
explore the Catholic tradition from our local context as
a diverse Church with members of different cultural
backgrounds and with varying ministerial needs.
To

Vatican Council.
