Baptism and Baptismal Preparation

Baptism frees us from sin and we are reborn as children of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission. It is the basis of the whole Christian life and therefore preparation is necessary.

Parents are required to be registered members of St. Peter and must attend a Baptismal Preparation Program.  The goal of the class is to convey an understanding of Baptism in the Church today; to help parents recognize their responsibility and role in the development of their child’s faith. You are encouraged to attend the program before your baby is born.  The upcoming English classes for 2012 are January 21, February 18, March 17, April 21, May 19 & June 16 beginning promptly at 9:00am in the St. Monica Classroom in the Parish Hall. The Spanish program is held on the last Friday of the month.  For more information and to register, please contact the parish office.
Please register in advance.

Baptisms are celebrated in English following the 4:30 p.m. Mass. Baptisms in Spanish are celebrated on the first Sunday on the month following the 12:30 pm Mass.

Adults and children of school age would prepare for Baptism through the Religious Education Office with Becky Miklos,Director of Religious Education.
