Purpose: To follow the guidance of the Catholic Church’s Magesterium, which in part states, that:

“The Church earnestly desires that all the faithful be led to that full, conscious and active participation in liturgical celebrations called for by the very nature of the liturgy. In the reform and promotion of the liturgy, this full and active participation by all the people is the aim to be considered before all else.” (CCC #1141)
We aim to do this by inspiring the congregation to sing! We desire to use our voices, hearts, and instruments to lead people closer to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We choose music that connects with the congregation’s hearts and spirits, with the aim of strengthening each parishioner’s personal relationship with God.
When and Where: Rehearsals for all choirs are held in the Music Area of the church.
 Adult Music Opportunities
• Parish Choirrehearsal Thursdays 7:00–8:30pm
Parish Choir membership is open to all parishioners ages 16 and up. Music reading ability and prior choir experience is helpful but not necessarily required. The Parish Choir provides music for the Saturday 4:30pm and Sunday 11:00am Masses year round and at all holiday celebrations.
• Cantor Ministry rehearses with parish choir
Cantors lead the congregation from the pulpit in singing the Responsorial Psalm. Participation in this ministry requires membership in the Parish Choir, proficiency in reading music, and prior cantor or choral experience.
 Bell Choirrehearsal Thursdays 6:15–7:00pm
Our Bell Choir is a handbell/handchime ensemble for adults. Basic music reading is necessary. This handbell ensemble rings at the Sunday 11am Mass year round and participates in other liturgies and concerts.
• LIFE TEEN Band rehearsal/mass Sundays 4:00–6:30pm
Adult singers and instrumentalists provide contemporary Christian praise and worship music each week for the LIFE TEEN Mass at 5:30pm. For singers some music reading ability is helpful, for instrumentalists it is required.
 Youth Music Opportunities
Youth Choir  - rehearsal Thursdays 5:00–6:15 p.m.
Youth (grades 6-12) are invited to use their musical talents through singing, playing instruments, and ringing bells. They provide music for the Sunday 9:30am Mass. Some music reading ability is helpful. Members are encouraged to seek outside musical instruction. Instrumentalists are required to have private teachers and need to be proficient in reading music.
 Children’s Choir – rehearsal Wednesdays 3-3:45pm
Children grades 2-6 with a passion for singing are encouraged to audition for St. Peter’s children’s choir. No music reading ability is required. This choir sings once a month at the Sunday 9:30am during the school year. Auditions are held at the beginning of the school year. Mrs. Lisa Begley acts as assistant to the choir director.
