Food for Families
|
Purpose: To collect non-perishable food from parishioners and distribute it to provide assistance to the poor.
When and Where: The 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month to distribute food in the Parish Hall.
Time Commitment: One Saturday per month, approximately 2 hours
Talents and Gifts: A love of God and a desire to help the poor.
Contact: Yvette Gregory, 561-747-5977

Purpose: To cook and provide a hot meal to the poor in our community on a weekly basis.
When and Where: Parish Hall Kitchen every Friday at 8:45 a.m.
Time Commitment: 1–3 hours a week.
Talents and Gifts: Kindness of heart, generosity and compassion to help others in need.

St. Vincent de Paul Society

Purpose: To reach out and provide support to the poor in our local community. Members of the ministry meet personally with those requesting help to determine what the needs are and how the ministry can best provide help.
When and Where: Monthly ministry meetings on Tuesday evenings in the Parish Hall and various case visits in the community.
Time Commitment: About one hour per month to attend meetings and generally one hour per case visit. Additional time commitments for supporting ministry events such as fund raising, raffles, bulletin stuffing, etc.Talents and Gifts: Compassion for your fellow man, a desire to listen and help others. Bilingual-speaking people are needed.

Purpose: Provide Christmas gifts to needy children in Jupiter and the Catholic Charities of Belle Glade from newborn to 17 years old.
When and Where: Parishioners are asked to take a gift tag from the trees placed in the 3 entrances to the church at the end of November.
Time Commitment: ½ hour to take a tag, purchase the gift suggested on the tag and return it to church the following week. Ministry members, 3-4 hours to sort gifts the first Sunday of December.
Talents and Gifts: Willingness to give to others in need.

Purpose: To bring Christ to the imprisoned by talking with them about scripture and preparing them for Mass. Communion services are held at the local prisons during the week. This ministry is a part of the Diocesan Office of Prison Ministry.
Talents and Gifts: Love God and be willing to share this love with others. Membership is open to Catholics in good standing over the age of 21.

Purpose: Devoted to educating parishioners on our Catholic Church’s teaching that life is sacred from conception to natural death. Respect Life prays for a conversion of hearts and minds so that our society will live the call to be a culture of life, acknowledging that all life is a gift from God.
When and Where: We meet as needed to pray, organize events, and collect and sort clothes for distribution to those in need.
Time Commitment: Varies
Talents and Gifts: Prayerful, patient, committed to promoting a culture of life, articulate, willing to share their faith, persistent and optimistic.

Purpose: To assist the Blessed Mother in her request for prayer by spreading the devotion of the rosary throughout our parish, community and around the world.
When and Where: The 2nd and 4th Monday of the month at 7PM in the Parish Hall, St. Monica Room
Time Commitment: 2 hours per month for the meeting , optional- time at home to make more rosaries at home.
Talents and Gifts: A love and devotion to the Blessed Mother; enjoy making crafts; we will teach you how to make rosaries.

Purpose: To provide education about addictive diseases; increase awareness of the pain in people’s lives and places where help can be found for those affected by/or afflicted with an addictive disease; and offer support, acceptance, understanding and healing.
When and Where: Monthly meetings are held on the 1st Thursday at 6:30 – 7:30 pm in the St. Maximilian Kolbe Room, Parish Hall.
Time Commitment: 1 hour per month
Talent and Gifts: Compassion for those affected by/or afflicted with an addictive disease, and who have either recovered from the affects or affliction or have actual experience in counseling or education directly related to addictive diseases.
